Keune Cares.

We’re on a mission for people, the planet and generations to come.

Sustainability is more than a trend; it’s a movement and we are dedicated to our Green Vision. As a family-owned company, we are founded on values that strive to bring out the best in our people, so you can be Your Best You. This calls for a sustainable and inclusive future, which is why, as a global brand, we are already making progress on creating changes that will leave a greener, more inclusive footprint. Here at Keune ANZ we’re passionate about protecting and restoring the health, diversity and productivity of our region’s unique landscape and are taking positive action in doing so. We have 9 pillars that represent the Keune Cares global project including initiatives on our home soil that we are incredibly dedicated to.

Change starts with awareness and our actions as humans have more impact than we think. Here’s how we make a daily impact:

We’re powered by the sun.

Our manufacturing plant in the Netherlands is entirely powered by solar energy – collected using the 3682 solar panels on our rooftops! And, by 2022, it will also be completely carbon neutral. Here at Keune ANZ, we are carbon neutral and have 328 solar panels that power our offices too along with green efficient lighting systems.

We believe in family.

Keune ANZ is a home with a loving & inclusive culture filled with people from all walks of life. We appreciate and respect the multicultural and multifaceted family we have fostered over the many years we have been operating and are proud of the many faces who make up our amazing road staff, office and warehouse teams.

Our studios are run sustainably.

Here at Keune ANZ, we have teamed up with Sustainable Salons for our studio locations across Australia to ensure we are disposing of our chemical waste, recycling packaging and managing our studios in a way that reduces our environmental footprint.

We rethink, recycle & reduce plastic.

Globally, we use recycled plastic to replace virgin plastic and by 2025, we’ll cut our virgin plastic use in half by using more recycled and bio-based plastics, reducing the amount of plastics in our packaging, and making more packaging reusable & refillable. Keune has also cut the amount of plastic packaging we use by more than 2000kg annually – simply by using thinner wrap foil.

We reduce our waste.

Not only do we dispose of our salon waste environmentally via Sustainable Salons, globally Keune has also cut back on residual waste by 28% - that’s material from our plant in the Netherlands that can’t be recycled or re-used. Our manufacturing plant sends absolutely zero industrial waste to landfill.

We surround ourselves with those who have aligned values.

At Keune ANZ we ensure all of our suppliers are sustainable, operate ethically and are part of relevant associations which are governed in the way of ‘good practices’ in all areas. It’s important to us that we work with people who believe in what we do so we can continue building greener credentials.

We love trees and forests.

Locally, we have also transitioned to online & digital materials to reduce our paper use. On a global scale, to help ensure the future of rainforests, 75% of our palm-oil based ingredients are RSPO quality certified. By the end of 2021, this will be 100%! To promote sustainable forestry, 97% of our cardboard and paper packaging is FSC or PEFC certified – which will grow to 100% by 2021.

We never, ever test on animals.

We love animals, so we never ever test ingredients or final products on our furry friends! And globally, Keune chooses to only sell products to countries who believe in the same thing.

We care for others.

In 2005, The Keune Foundation was born with the sole aim to provide financial assistance to families who experience the emotional & financial stress of having a child diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. We do so without question, cost or prejudice. 10c from every Tinta Color & So Pure Color sold goes towards The Keune Foundation along with annual contributions through fundraising & donations thanks to the generosity of our Keune ANZ extended family.
